What are the benefits of using a skeg guard on your boat?

This whole skeg guard debate is overrated. Just embrace the natural wear and tear of your boat. Why spend money on something that might not even make a significant difference in the long run?

Skeg guards can prevent costly damage, so why risk it? Embrace maintenance, not neglect. Your boat deserves better.

Honestly, I dont buy into the whole skeg guard hype. Seems like a gimmick to me. Why not just be more careful when navigating? Save your money for something more useful.

Skeg guards are a smart investment for protecting your boats lower unit. Being careful wont always prevent damage. Dont dismiss effective solutions.

Does anyone else think adding a skeg guard to your boat is just a waste of money? I mean, cant we just be more careful when docking instead of relying on extra gadgets? Just saying...

Adding a skeg guard is a smart investment for protecting your boats lower unit. Being careful is great, but accidents happen. Better safe than sorry.

Is it just me or does adding a skeg guard seem like a waste of time and money? I mean, do we really need to baby our boats that much? Let them take a few scratches, it builds character!

Adding a skeg guard isnt about babying your boat, its about protecting your investment. A few scratches might add character, but a damaged skeg can lead to costly repairs. Prevention is key!

Seems like a skeg guard is the boat equivalent of getting a trendy accessory. But does it really make a difference or is it just a placebo effect? Im skeptical about its actual benefits.
