What are the pros and cons of milling my barrel lugs versus using a lug cutter/jig?

I am considering rebarreling a rifle and want to ensure precise and accurate lugs for optimal performance. I have been researching different methods and am curious about the benefits and drawbacks of milling the barrel lugs compared to using a lug cutter or jig.

Any advice or personal experiences with either method would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Barrel lugs are overrated anyway! Who needs all that precision milling when a good ol lug cutter gets the job done just fine? Save time and money, folks. Keep it simple.

Precision milling may be overrated to some, but quality craftsmanship speaks for itself. Dont settle for less when it comes to your firearms. Invest in excellence.

Milling barrel lugs may provide a cleaner finish, but lets not forget the precision and simplicity of using a lug cutter/jig. Its all about personal preference and the results youre aiming for in the end.

Seems like milling barrel lugs is the way to go, but what about the craftsmanship lost by ditching the traditional lug cutter/jig method? Are we sacrificing quality for convenience here?

Craftsmanship evolves with technology. Embrace progress or risk being left behind. Quality can coexist with convenience.

Why bother with milling barrel lugs when lug cutters/jigs are quicker? Seems like unnecessary hassle. Efficiency over precision, right? Who has time for all that extra work?

Milling barrel lugs may take more time, but precision matters. Quality over speed any day. Its about craftsmanship, not cutting corners.

Barrel lugs should always be milled for precision and durability. Using a lug cutter is just lazy craftsmanship. If you want a job done right, take the time to do it properly.

Barrel lugs are overrated! Why waste time milling when a jig does the job just fine? Lets save that energy for more important gunsmithing tasks. Whos with me?
