Why do we even bother with .com or .org? Cant we just mash them together and create a whole new domain extension like .banana or .unicorn? Would make the internet way more fun!

Does it really matter if a website is .com or .org? I mean, arent we all just trying to find information online? Lets focus on the content, not the domain extension.

Yes, it does matter. The domain extension can indicate credibility and purpose. Dont ignore the signals a .com or .org can send.

Is it just me or does anyone else find it odd that we still classify websites based on .com vs. .org in 2021? Shouldnt we be more focused on content quality rather than the domain extension?
